The White Horse

A horse throughout Scripture carries with it certain concepts.  Strength, power, conquest, and warfare are all involved.  Examples include Zechariah 1:8 and 6:1, Isaiah 30:16 and 31:1, Job 39:19-25, and Revelation 6:2 and 19:11.

The color white in Scripture signifies purity or that which is heavenly.  Therefore, when one reads of a rider on a white horse (Rev. 6:2; 19:11) with a rider wearing a robe dipped in blood leading a charge it appears the rider to be Christ Himself.  After all, the aim of the Apocalypse is the conquering Christ (cf. Ps 45:3-5; Matt 10:34; Hebrews 1:8).

At times, it is good to be reminded of the “final score”.  As the world experiences wars and rumors of wars, as speculation in regards to the end of the world as we know it continues, it’s good to know that the One who gave His life is fighting for His people.

That gives me hope, joy, and peace.  God is still God.  And He remains on His throne
